I am very proud to say that second class were the overall winners of the Junior Class Prize in the 'Echo Young Artist of the Year' competition. The children drew and coloured their own interpretations of what a clean park should look like, using lots of colour and imagination. As a result, The Echo visited us today, along with a photographer. Each child received a Goodie bag and the chosen winners also got a certificate.
We've been learning how to make static energy in Science this week and testing out what objects in the classroom are the best conductors of electricity.
Thank you to Malcolm's brother, Glen, for visiting us today, Thursday the 14th. Glen is a musician in a local band, Walker. He played some songs for the class and we asked him questions that we had prepared earlier in English. We also performed some of our own songs and poems to him. It's great that Malcolm has a positive role model in his life.
On Monday the 11th, we went on our school trip to Kippure Estate, in the beautiful countryside of Wicklow. The children had great fun, we built forts, went on a treasure hunt and built rafts along the streams.
A special thank you to ALL the parents who volunteered. Without parental supports, these outings are not possible.
