This month we played with marbles. We learned some traditional games with marbles and practiced our hand-eye co-ordination. We also got to play with a marble run.
We all had lots of fun at our sports day. We enjoyed participating in a range of activities such as Penalty shootout, Elephant skittles, Water relays, Tennis, Blindfolded jigsaws and Bean bag toss.
We tried to hatch some eggs this month. We got some eggs from the farmer. We put them in a incubator. The incubator works like a mother hen sitting on her eggs. During the month we checked how the eggs were growing by shining a bright light through them. We knew that 1 of our 7 eggs was not growing the way it should. We waited the 21 days it takes for the eggs to hatch. Unfortunately only 1 egg hatched properly and even the chick that hatched did not live very long. We could see that the chicks had grown well in some of the other eggs, but for some reason they did not hatch properly. It was an interesting lesson.
This week we went on a wonderful nature walk on the abandoned golf course next to our school. The weather was lovely and we had a fantastic time exploring. We saw lots of different types of bugs and insects, and we even gathered some frogs. Afterwards we had a picnic and enjoyed some games.
This week we were looking at money. We setup a shop in our classroom. We made different items for the shop and gave each one a price tag. We have lots of fun buying and selling things in the shop.
This month we were exploring the theme of space. We setup a space rocket in our classroom. We had lots of fun shooting into space and having lots of adventures.
This month we have been looking at the planets. We each made our own planet. We covered a balloon with paper maché and let it dry. Then we painted it. Afterwards we hung the planets from the classroom ceiling and made a model of our solar system. The sun is at the centre. Earth is the third planet from the sun.
