-Did the adults believe the little boy?
-If you were a dinosaur, where would you hide in a supermarket? Why?
-Did you enjoy this story? Why?Why not?
3. Maths: Last week we combined groups of numbers up to 10 and wrote sums for them. This week we will partition numbers up to 10 and write sums to match them. Please see photo gallery below (Photos will be in gallery on website, not laid out as below.) Write one sum to match each picture. Try to do 5 sums a day. If it suits your child to work with concrete objects, copy the sums from the pictures using household objects like spoons.
4. Hand-writing: Here is a little idea you can try to turn a normal lined page into a handwriting sheet. Alternatively, you can do this work in a copy or make a worksheet by printing off the lined sheet below. I made this quite simply with plain lined A4 paper, a ruler and coloured markers or pens.
Here is the video for today’s handwriting lesson. https://youtu.be/hMVGfyuFNuQ. Practise the first part of these daily exercises on lined paper, preferably wide lines. Write at least 10 of each capital letter. We suggest that parents write the letter as a guide and allow the children to copy it 10 times. This task will be the same each day with new letters.
Please note: The focus for handwriting is that all capital letters are tall. This means they should reach the red line/top line but not go over it. All letters should stand on the blue line/bottom line, and not fall off the line or jump up in the air. Focus on keeping letters and lines straight. It is better to do this work slowly and get it looking tidy than to race through it and have less tidy work. Have fun with the extension activity afterwards too.
