First class performed this song for the Winter Concert. It was written by the very talented Noon. All classes will now sing this song at the St. Patrick's day parade. We hope you enjoy this performance!!
We have great talent in First Class. Our friend attended an Irish dancing feis on Sunday and won first place in her reel and two hand reel. She won two big trophies and she brought them in to show us. Here she is pictured with her friends two of her proud friends. Well Done!!
Engineers Week took place from the 28th February to the 5th March 2016. On Thursday we had a special visit from three engineers who work with Pfizer in Grange Castle. Paras's dad Vinayak and his two colleagues Barry and Máire came to talk to the class and share some of their engineering expertise with us. As you can see from the pictures it was a very hands on experience and the children worked with each of the engineers to experience a different aspect of engineering. Each of the engineers talked about the work which they do at Pfizer and told us about some of their hobbies and past times. The majority of the class are now inspired to become engineers when they are older. Thanks so much for visiting us. We also received a bracelet and a new wooden pencil case with colouring pencils in it.
To coincide with the general election we had our own student council elections at Citywest ETNS. Nine children put themselves forward in our class and Bella and Simon were the top two candidates. Bella and Simon then began their campaign trail. They put up posters all around the school and they visited the other classes to inform them of their manifestos. Today we received the excellent new that both Bella and Simon were elected to the student council and they will represent both first classes. We know that they will do a great job representing us.
