Friday:

1. Tests:
  • Spellings: test your child on their spellings for this week. Adults- call out each spelling and have them write the words in a copy. Go through  corrections together.
  • Maths: test your child on their addition facts for this week (6+)
Ask them to write out and answer ten 6+ sums in their copy. E.g. 6+5=, 6+11= ? Please do not go beyond 6+20= (unless your child is fully confident with that)

2. Maths:
Let's warm up - spend about 10 minutes on these activities to get your brain going and ready to think in numbers!
  • Skip counting in 3s activity sheet
  • Weekly tables +6
  • https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button. Click number bonds, then click missing numbers + and -. This is another fun game of subtraction and addition!

Ok, now you're ready, let's go!
  • We are looking at subtraction and addition today.
  • Try these - You can use pencil and paper if you wish! What number should replace the question marks?
8-? =4        ?+6=16    18-?= 6    ?+?= 50    38+6=?        45-?=35    18+8=?    45-?= 30    60-25=?    18+31=?
  • Complete Friday’s worksheet for today’s learning
  • *Challenge: complete Friday on the problem solving worksheet
  • Complete the following 5 sums to test on 6+
6+8=
6+9=
6+14=
6+18=
6+20=

Drawing activity:
Draw a picture of how you’re keeping yourself active.
  • First, think of which exercise you are going to draw. Are you going for walks? Watching online videos? Dancing? Yoga?.....
  • Think about where you want the image of you to be placed. Will you be in the centre of the page? If you are going to draw other people in this picture make sure to leave room for them beside you!
  • Using a pencil, draw a picture of you doing the exercise. You will use lots of different shapes here - a circle or oval for the head, a rectangle maybe for the body. Straight and curved lines to show your arms and legs moving.
  • Now, think about where you are doing this exercise. Are you at home? In your garden? In a park?
  • Draw the background.
  • When you have finished drawing, be sure to add lots of colour to your picture :)
  • Take a photograph and share it with us so we can share your work with others!

*Challenge: write a paragraph to tell us more about what you have drawn.

Well done on another great week!
Have a great weekend!
