Egg Incubator Project
We've had a very EGG-citing week. Our class is taking part in an incubator project from Nore Valley farm. Farmer John visited our classroom on Tuesday to deliver 7 chicken eggs and an incubator. We are currently incubating the eggs in our classroom. After 21 days, we are hoping that some or all of the eggs will hatch. We will get to look after the chickens in our classroom for a week before they go back to the farm. We are very excited. We have started keeping a science journal to record our observations. We have noticed that the incubator turns every hour to make sure that the eggs are warmed evenly.
Swimming
We started our swimming lessons on Friday and loved it! We got the bus there and back and enjoyed meeting our swimming teachers and getting in the pool. We are looking forward to next Friday.
Mother Tongue Week
We celebrated International Mother Language Day on Tuesday 21st of February. We had a visitor to our classroom, Susana, who read us stories in three languages; Spanish, Catalan and German. It was wonderful to hear some other languages and it inspired us to read and speak to each other in different languages sometimes.
